Spotted in the Adriatic Sea
Spotted in the Adriatic Sea
The search continues, but the sea keeps her secrets.
A New Heading
Despite the best efforts of the crew and the numerous search parties dispatched across the Aegean, the Black Captain remains elusive. He was not found in the ancient highlands of Anatolia, nor along the rocky coastlines where he was last seen.
However, hope is not lost.
Recent rumours whispered among the sailors and merchants in the bustling ports suggest a new heading, though the details have shifted. It was not the Black Hoard that was spotted navigating the deep, azure waters of the Adriatic Sea. Instead, word has it that the Captain himself was seen aboard another vessel, traveling as a simple passenger.
Tavern Rumours
Those who claim to have seen him speak of a familiar face, marked by his many stigmata and the undeniable wounds upon his visage and hands. Rumours suggest that he is fleeing from something, yet observers note that he always appears relaxed and entirely in control.
As with all tales spun in port taverns, the rumours have taken on a life of their own. Some wild stories claim the Captain has become an agent of the law, or even worse, some kind of criminal. These, of course, are the inventions of crazed minds. Another interesting and widely spread rumour suggests that the Captain has lost his own mind—that he is crazy himself.
The Nature of Normalcy
But who, traversing these turbulent waters, can truly be called "normal"? Nobody knows. One must remember: "Judge not, that you be not judged." (Matthew 7:1)
If this tale warmed your heart or gave you a moment of peace on troubled seas, consider buying the Captain a grog.
